Legal, Terms & Policies
Last updated: October 16 2025
Fyrewood (“Fyrewood,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates in British Columbia, Canada. By visiting our website (the “Site”), placing an order, arranging pickup or delivery, or using any service we provide (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to the terms, notices, and policies below. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or Services.
1. Definitions and Scope
“Customer,” “you,” and “your” mean any individual or organization that accesses the Site or purchases our products or Services. “Products” means firewood in bundles, rounds, and cords, and any related goods we may sell from time to time. “Order” means any purchase of Products, including wholesale, retail, pickup, delivery, and log-processing services. These terms apply to all use of the Site and all Orders, whether placed online, in person, or by message.
2. Eligibility and Acceptable Use
You must be of legal age to contract in your province or territory to place an Order. You may not use the Site or Services for unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, infringing, or harmful purposes. You agree not to disrupt the Site, bypass security, scrape content without permission, or misuse any contact channels. We may refuse or cancel Orders and suspend access where we suspect breach, abuse, or risk.
3. Product Description, Measurement, and Quality
Firewood is a natural material; dimensions, species mix, density, moisture, and appearance vary. We describe Products in good faith and endeavour to measure accurately. Cords are sold using lawful trade measurements (for example, one full cord equals 128 cubic feet stacked, typically 4’×4’×8’). When we use alternative units (for example, 1.0 or 2.0 cubic-foot bundles, or ¼ and ½ cord equivalents), we state these clearly. Seasoning designations (for example, “seasoned”) indicate typical moisture targets for efficient burning; actual burn performance depends on storage, weather, appliance type, and air supply. You are responsible for verifying the suitability of species, size, and moisture for your intended use (bonfires, home heating, cooking, events, or festivals).
4. Ordering, Pricing, and Payment
Prices, fees, promotions, and availability are subject to change without notice. Taxes, environmental fees, and delivery charges, where applicable, are calculated at checkout or at the time of invoice. We accept the payment methods displayed during checkout and process payments through reputable third-party providers. By placing an Order, you authorize the total charges shown. If pricing or availability errors occur, we may cancel or amend the Order and will notify you promptly. Wholesale pricing requires approval and may include case minimums, delivery windows, or consignment terms.
5. Pickup, Delivery, and Title Transfer
Pickup occurs at our designated yard or a posted location at scheduled times. Delivery is curbside or driveway drop unless otherwise stated. Stacking, ferrying, or special placement services (if offered) incur additional charges and are performed at our discretion and safety assessment. Title and risk of loss transfer to you upon delivery to the agreed location or upon pickup, whichever applies. Delivery windows are estimates and may be affected by weather, road conditions, fire bans, access restrictions, or other factors outside our control. You are responsible for safe access (for example, clear paths and adequate space for drop). If a delivery attempt fails due to access or safety issues, redelivery fees may apply.
6. Safety, Fire Regulations, and Use Guidance
You are solely responsible for safe storage, handling, and burning of all firewood. Store wood off the ground, covered but ventilated, away from ignition sources, and in compliance with appliance manuals and local by-laws. Observe all fire bans, air-quality advisories, and park rules. Use dry kindling and adequate airflow; never burn painted, pressure-treated, glued, or contaminated wood. Maintain chimneys, flues, and spark arrestors; supervise fires; keep extinguishing means on hand; and ensure complete extinguishment after use. Outdoor cooking on log rounds and handled rounds requires level placement, heat-resistant cookware, and caution around hot surfaces, embers, and wind. We are not responsible for damage, smoke, staining, or injury arising from storage, misuse, or improper burning practices.
7. Log Drop-Off and Processing Services
We may accept customer logs for cutting, splitting, drying, or processing. You warrant that you have the right to deliver such wood and that it is free from nails, metal, rock, or hazardous contaminants. We may refuse material at our sole discretion. Processing yields vary with species, diameter, length, knots, defects, and moisture content; no minimum yield is guaranteed. Turnaround timelines are estimates only. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, unclaimed processed wood may be deemed abandoned after reasonable notice and handling fees. You agree to indemnify us for any third-party claims arising from ownership, contamination, or transport of your logs.
8. All Products Final Sale
All Products and Services are sold as-is and are final sale. Due to the nature of firewood and custom processing, we do not offer returns, refunds, or exchanges once Products are picked up or delivered, or once processing begins. If you believe there is a measurement or delivery discrepancy, contact us promptly through the Contact Form with Order details and photographs so we can review.
9. Limited Warranty, Disclaimers, and Limitation of Liability
Except as expressly required by law, Products and Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, exemplary, or lost profit damages, nor for property damage, smoke, soot, stains, pests, or personal injury related to storage or burning. Our total liability for any claim relating to an Order shall not exceed the amount paid for that Order. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; if so, the foregoing shall apply to the fullest extent permitted.
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Fyrewood and its directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the Site or Services, violation of these terms, or unsafe storage, handling, transport, or burning of wood.
11. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including fires, floods, storms, severe weather, public health emergencies, strikes, labour shortages, supply constraints, carrier failures, or government actions.

15. Security Policy and Incident Response
We employ reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), restricted access, credential hygiene, and monitored hosting. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute protection. In the event of a security incident involving your personal information, we will investigate, mitigate, and, where required by law, notify affected individuals and regulators. We assess vendors for security posture and require appropriate safeguards by contract.

If you encounter barriers or require accommodations, contact us via the Contact Form and we will provide reasonable assistance or alternative formats.
17. Environmental and Biosecurity Considerations
Wood can harbour pests or fungi if moved across regions. Follow local guidance on transporting and storing firewood; when feasible, burn it near where it is sourced. We reserve the right to decline Orders or log drop-offs that present contamination, pest, or safety risks.
18. Dispute Resolution, Governing Law, and Venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith by contacting us through the Contact Form with a detailed description. If we cannot resolve within a reasonable time, you agree that courts located in British Columbia shall have exclusive jurisdiction and venue. If you prefer mediation or arbitration, you may propose it in writing; we may consent at our discretion.
19. Changes to These Terms and Policies
We may update these terms to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use of the Site or Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
